Remuneration: R 241 535.42 (p/a all-inclusive). 


  • A National diploma/degree with Financial Accounting/ Public Management / SCM / Asset Management or relevant NQF 6 equivalent qualification.
  • Thorough knowledge of PFMA, Treasury regulation, GRAP standards and other asset management regulatory framework in the Public Service.
  • Thorough knowledge of asset management frame-work, asset management policies and asset administration.
  • Techniques and practices of asset verification accounting
  • Problem solving and communication skill.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Asset ware, e-workflow systems will serve as an advantage.


  • Ensure the efficient management of departmental assets.
  • Implement policies and procedures to minimize the risk of asset losses.
  • Oversee stock counting, verification and evaluation of assets.
  • Ensure marking and bar-cording of assets.
  • Perform asset reconciliations.
  • Analyse and interpret asset management reports.
  • Conduct reconciliation on procurement spent on assets.
  • Assist in managing the acquisition and distribution of assets.
  • Maintain and update the Asset Register.
  • Compile, update and distribute asset lists.
  • Monitor, advise and assist the departmental officials on asset management matters
  • Check the state/age/condition of assets and provide advice to the SCM Manager.
  • Loss Control: Carry out recording and reporting of theft, loss, damage and mismanagement of assets.
  • Monitor the investigation and recovery of losses.
  • Act as secretary of Disposal Board committee
  • Asset Disposal: Conduct inspection and provide pro-active advice on assets for the preparation of disposals.
  • Act as secretary of Loss Control committee
  • Recommend assets to be disposed of and method of disposal to the Accounting officer.
  • Advice on method of disposals.
  • Compile monthly unit performance report.
