ICT MANAGER

Position: ICT MANAGER - Ref ICTM 2017

Remuneration: Market related package will be negotiated with the successful candidates

Job Function:

The Information Technology Manager responsibilities are to manage ICT in the institution, ICT Governance, handle ICT Audits for Compliance, ICT Security, Software Maintenance, Training and Consultations, Insure ICT Policy are in place and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University Degree /National Diploma NQF6 Information Technology or Information Technology in Systems Support NQF 5 with minimum of 5 Years’ proven experience in the field or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Linux Systems is required
  • Relevant ICT experience including good knowledge of systems applications (Microsoft Office program suite, Windows Server, Windows System Update Server and Red hard Linux).
  • Systems security experience securing data from internal and external attack Firewall
  • Extensive experience of the Linux applications and development environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Linux Redhart,Centos and Antivirus Applications
  • Extensive experience in the following systems, Accpac, VIP Payrol,ESS HR System,SQL Server,Proxnet System, Proxy Mail Server ,Global Technology Associates Firewall, Ticket System Postgress,PBX System, IP Tables and WSUS
  • Insure day to day running and 24/7 uptime of PHD / Postgress Ticket Booking System as well as external Ticket Booking System Outlets or Online.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills and ability to think independently
  • Advantage A+,N+,Linux Certificates

Valid Driver’s License 

Job Specifications:

(Major responsibilities and target accomplishments expected of the position including the typical problems encountered in carrying out the responsibilities.)

  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP)
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
  • Meet with managers and steering committee to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
  • Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems
  • Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
  • Research current and potential resources and services
  • Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
